A Special Presentation from Quilting My Way

Today I needed to get a few Christmas cards out. I still need to do a few more. As I was writing my cousin Cindy's card, she sent me a text wishing us a Merry Christmas.  Too funny how we tend to do that with each other.

Then it was off to the museum for a special presentation.  We honored Lee Boling and Roger Gonzales.

Mrs. Braun made their quilts,  so I had her sign the quilts as well. We honored her husband as well. It was awesome.

We had a cake made for them because of it being ...

Running Around Town Today from Quilting My Way

This morning, I was up early. Just wanted to be sure to be up when Debbie came. We were going to go to the museum to check on quilts, then to McMenamins for donations.

Debbie arrived around 11 am. We headed to Dutch Brothers for our drinks. Then we went to the bank before heading to the museum. We figured we have 9 quilts for January and 6 quilts for February so far. Had to let Carol know how many we had to be able to set up awards. Then we headed over to the pub in Centralia that has ...

Another Quiet Day - But Did Crochet from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up and dressed. I played my game for awhile and then one of the gals from another "alliance" got on her high horse and had me blackballed. So, It wouldn't matter how I played in that kingdom, I would be attacked. No one would take me. All over one comment about her changing her name and not letting me get horses. I was literally bullied out of the game. So, I deleted my 3 accounts and I will go to another kingdom that doesn't have to put up with one person taking over a ...

Back To Stitching from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up when Patrick came to tell me what time it was. He wasn't sure when I needed to get up. He was going to try to go golfing but his back wasn't quiet there yet.

I left around 10 am to pick Debbie up. We went to Walgreens for the mini candy cane's. That is what we will give out when we are doing the Borst Park decorations in Dec. Then it was Dutch Brothers for coffee and the credit union.  We then went to the museum to find they closed it this ...

Embroidery And Veterans Day Celebration from Quilting My Way

This morning I had to get everything ready to go. I had quilts, flyers, and quilt tops. Then it was off to embroidery.

I listened to my book while heading over to Love's for gas. Then headed to Centralia to get coffee and head to the grange.

I worked on the hummingbird piece today.

I got most of the leaves done by the nest. I'm not sure I like the color of the leaves. But that the color I have in the kit. It is different.  I was enjoying this.

Then I had to get moving to the ...

A Fun Sunday from Quilting My Way

We did our usual cleaning this morning.  Then I got my 7 laps in on walking.

Once I got back in the house,  I worked on getting my Quilts of Valor stuff done for tomorrow.  We watched some British shows as well.

Victoria Parrott made this quilt for us. Colleen quilted it. Looks awesome.  It's going tomorrow.

Victoria did this one too. I love what she does for us. Both labels are done.

I finished up laundry today.

My evening was just relaxing and watching TV. I worked on my games for a bit.  I kept Happy Quilting/Happy ...

Embroidery Day from Quilting My Way

We had our embroidery meeting today. Mom and Sandy's friend made 5 of us. We had a good meeting with mom chatting up a storm.

I got more done on my Space Needle. Sandy said I should add a picnic tablet. At first I was wondering why, the she said,  "you mentioned the picnic table that your grandmother said was the Taylor picnic table." That was on Alki Point in Seattle.  Back when there wasn't a lot of people going there. Like a secret.  When I visited with cousin Cindy 10 years ago, it was still there. But ...

Back To Quilting For Now from Quilting My Way

Tried to sleep in with out much luck.

It pretty much rained all day. I went downstairs to work on my quilt to I was trying to figure out.

This is my design so far. I want to get to 60" x 80" and call it good. I wanted something different in the corners.  I cut triangles out of the left over strips. Then I sewed the triangles together with the blue. I need to do one more block and then I can finish this boarder. I will do the off white on the next boarder. There will be 4 ...

Presentation Day from Quilting My Way

Patrick was gone when I got up. He went golfing.

I headed to the museum for our presentation.  We had a good turn out with 3 active duty members getting their quilts.  The other active duty gentleman couldn't make it. So we did the guy that was given to Mt Rainier to award. Good thing Cindy was there. She even help present pins to Vietnam Veterans.

The gentleman in the middle knew her friend that is on the MIA list. It was a shock to everyone her telling the story of her friend and finding out they went to ...

Trying To Get Back To Normal from Quilting My Way

Patrick went golfing while I walked 7 laps. Then played my game for a bit before going downstairs.

Pulled out the another panel. Decided I wanted to make this one. Mades me think of dad. I found 4 more stars, so I am going to put 3 stars in the corners.  We moved the blue,  off white and gold fabrics around and will do them in a different order. Was thinking I am going to have a hard time if and when I loose Patrick.  He's cancer is coming back every time we think it's working.

I didn ...

A Visit To The Museum from Quilting My Way

Patrick went golfing. I went with Debbie to check our stack of quilts. We spent the morning going over our quilts, cleaned up our area in the museum and got the pillowcases stacked by white or off white.  We put the raffle stuff together.  It worked out great. We then figured the 2 quilts that the Mossyrock group said they needed. Waiting for her to get back to us.  Picked up 3 quilt tops that were dropped off.

Came home and cut the backing and batting for all three. Debbie took one to quilt. Will get Colleen to do the ...

A Week Of Appointments from Quilting My Way

This morning it felt good to sleep in and little. I did some cleaning and picking up. Then went walking.

While I was getting my walk in I had to make phone calls to fix a mess with our group.  I believe it's solved but not sure.  Time will tell on this.

Then it was time to head to Olympia for yet another doctor appointment.  This time it was my oncology appointment.  My mammogram was Tuesday and the good news is there wasn't any sign of cancer. Now I am scheduled for another 3 month check up. After ...

Today was our presentation day. It went great. We gave 6 quilts out to 6 veterans that are firefighters.  We even had a visitor that is the leader of Mossyrock.  Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to talk to her.

We had one veteran ask that no photos be taken.  We honored his wishes.

Came home and my washer was in and running.  Patrick did 2 loads of laundry.

Getting Ready For My New Washer from Quilting My Way

Patrick went golfing today. I walked 7 laps on my own, listening to my books on tape.  I enjoyed getting lost in my books.

I helped Patrick move the dryer out of the laundry room. It turned out easier than I expected.  The washer is heavy. At least we asked them to take the washer away when they come. We only had to move it for easy access.

The dryer is in the dining room right now.

I played my games today.

Then remembered I needed to get the certificates done for tomorrow.  Got word today that 2 of them ...

Quilters Day from Quilting My Way

This morning Patrick helped me get set up for the QOV quilters.  I was getting worried when the hadn't arrived by 9:50 am. Once one arrived they started coming in. We had 6 of us today.

Gail is a member and first timer. It worked out great. Connie,  Kristi,  Val and Gail sewed in the room with the fabrics.  Debbie and I moved around.  I was cutting and ironing most of the day. Debbie made one block. Then she started helping me out.

Of course I forgot to take pictures,  till everyone left. This is were they sewed ...

Between Getting Ready And Organizing from Quilting My Way

Was up and trying to get stuff ready for the quilters to come over.  I pulled some fabrics from the shelves before they came, knowing if I left them there they would be taken.  It's fabrics that Debbie and I use all the time.

Mom arrived with lunch and Debbie arrived after with my tea. We pulled the stuffwe got for fundraising.  Then Colleen arrived and we got started. We gave mom the fabrics we pulled for her as well. We laid the fabrics out on the floor by colors.  Connie and Joanne arrived and they helped. Joanne got ...

Presentation Day from Quilting My Way

This morning,  Patrick loaded the car with the 18 quilts to go to the museum. I had everything ready to go.

Before leaving,  I wanted to get labels on the 2 quilts in the bedroom.  I went downstairs and sewed 3 labels. Came upstairs and got started.

Joanne Wisner made this one and Connie quilted it.

This quilt was done by the same volunteer from yesterday.  I need to pay more attention to who made these to post their names. I do love this quilt. The quilt was given out today.

These are the ones we honored with quilts today ...

Collecting Fabric Today from Quilting My Way

This morning was Quilting at moms. I had a few places to stop along the way. I canceled one for Monday.  Got to moms by 9:30 am. We visited before everyone started coming in.

I worked on moms BOM.

I finished the leaves - or thought I did.

The leaves in the center was done wrong. Took them out and started all over. I just need the circles on top of the leaves on top. Will finish them later.

Left at noon to drop off backing and batting.  Next stop ( after Dutch Brothers) was to Debbie's.  Picked her up ...

Lazy Day With Beading from Quilting My Way

This morning,  I slept on. Then playing games.  My lunch was canceled so didn't go anywhere.

Ron and I walked 5 laps. He couldn't do any more.  Patrick went to his coffee chat. He meets up with his other City workers that retired when he did.

I got my certificates done for Saturday.  Then I cut backing and batting for Colleen.  I found the foot peddle for the sewing machine.

Then when he got home it was being lazy. We didn't even have the TV on. He picked up a roasted chicken for us. It was pretty ...

Getting Back On Track from Quilting My Way

This morning,  I was up early.  Had to get my stuff together for our meeting. Patrick was up and got the veggies from the garden for me to take to mom and the gals.

I headed to the PO to drop off my recycling stuff for Oral B. Found out I needed to go to Staples because the label was for UPS. I ended up waiting 10 mins before I could hand it over.

Arrived to find Alice and Sandy there. Gave Sandy the kits I got fir her and the porcupine quills.

I was able to get this much ...
